Krispy Kreme may be out in 2009

Several analysts say that Krispy Kreme may end up joining the long list of businesses that may not make it through 2009. This comes as very sad news to many people who enjoy the doughnuts and coffee of the popular chain of stores. But it definitely is more disturbing news for the many employees of the company who are in danger of losing their jobs if the forecast indeed comes true.

Analysts attribute the present situation to over-expansion which coincided with the global financial crisis that kept people spending on more important necessities other than food, or doughnuts so to say.

Many people have witnessed how Krispy Kreme had become a household name not only in the United States, but in other countries as well, extending to as far as the shores of the Philippines. Needless to say, those who crave for the chain’s sweet delights may continue to enjoy them as far as the supposed closure happens. But who knows, analysts may have just underestimated Krispy Kreme and its very loyal patrons.
